In 2011, during construction of a new entrance to the hospital, Sr. Mary Feehan and Barbara Klassen of the Benedictine Health Foundation began work on a wall dedicated to the mission of this Catholic Hospital located in Kingston, New York. At the same time, they planned to relocate their main donor recognition panel, the Benefactors’ Wall, to the new main entrance. Timely Signs was called in to develop a design that worked with the new architecture of the space and presented both of these items in a contemporary and impactful way.
The mission wall utilizes a custom round stained glass window featuring the seal of St. Benedict. This element was designed and produced by Thomas Munterick of Artistic Endeavors. Timely Signs produced the mission statement below in satin aluminum dimensional letters that were installed directly to the wood panel wall surface. The Benefactor Wall uses a structural column in the lobby to display archival images of the hospital and a history of the Benedictine Sisters. The donor wall features satin aluminum plates mounted to wood backers that coordinate with the wall panels in the lobby. The graphics are printed on a removable silver etching film that can be updated on an annual basis.
