The Edge is the most innovative library just for teens in New York State, and one of the first libraries created specifically for today’s digital youth. The Edge is divided into three areas: The Living Room—a space for socializing and gaming; The Mixing Area—a place for research and homework; and The Media Lab—a flexible space for workshops, classes, and collaboration.
Library Director, Brian Kenny enlisted the help of Timely Signs to develop a brand for this space along with a plan for signage and recognition elements to honor the many individuals and organizations that contributed to the capital construction for the campaign. The logo for The Edge was developed by one of our designers, Ron Gibbons, and became the basis for the angular design for the recognition panels. The colors and finishes were designed to coordinate with the interior finishes selected by the interior design firm for a cohesive, contemporary look. The project includes printed wall graphics, a main donor wall installation, individual dedication plaques and ADA compliant interior signage.
