The Trove is a children’s library that provides an enticing, multi-media, multi-sensory learning experience that combines the traditional library with the feel of a bookstore and the stimulation of a children’s museum. It serves as a model in the tri-state area.
The entrance features a dynamic multi-dimensional High Density Urethane custom sign that is suspended from the ceiling. The doorway is surrounded by open books that serve as a unique donor wall listing all contributors. The structural wall elements were fabricated by Chris Howard of Springboard Design. Timely Signs developed, printed and installed the graphic elements.
The individual donor plaques feature stock and custom illustrations chosen to relate to the name of each area of the library. These were fabricated using full color print technology on etched glass film. The films are applied to clear acrylic panels and mounted using aluminum stand-offs. Timely Signs worked closely with the library director, Sandra Miranda on all aspects of the design, image sourcing, fabrication and installation of the signage and donor elements, a collaborative effort that resulted in a successful and unique solution.
