Sign Re-facing or Rehabilitation – Case Study of VanKleeks Tire

June 22, 2012ReubenNews0

Have an “old” sign that you want to replace or change, but are short on the investment capital? Updating or re-facing your company’s sign is a relatively inexpensive way to create a major impact on potential customer awareness.

Whether you are a new business moving in or if your existing sign is  outdated or damaged,Timely Signs can give your sign a fresh, modern look by implementing one or more rehab options.

We recently did a sign rehabilitation for the Lake Katrine location of Van Kleeck’s tire. Unfortunately the top sign box was in pretty bad shape which we had to remove for safety reasons, but the existing support pole was in spectacular shape. Perfect for a new monument sign complete with a Daktronic digital display.

Below you can follow the process of the installation of the new unit.

Existing post

The existing poll ready for it’s new look.

Interior of the new lighted wall cabinet.

Anthony slides in the new faces once the sign cabinet was secured.

Jason does some small adjustments for the Daktronic display. We all had a bet as to the first temperature it would display.

The final result. An aluminum custom cabinet with some dimensional steps was created to hide the original post, and grooves for track lettering was added to allow the staff to display announcements.

A nice comparison of before and after.. How does it look?

Re-facing is an economical alternative to replacing the entire cabinet and allows you to continue to make use of your sign investment. Along with a fresh coat of paint and minor electrical service (if needed), an old sign can look new again.
